Daddy-o Grande from Los Straitjackets has been diagnosed with multiple myeloma(cancer of the bone marrow) profits from this show will go to Daddy-O Grande for his ongoing medical expenses. Admission is free but donations to Daddy-O-Grande are strongly encouraged! Bring your friends, family, lawn chairs and a cooler(Non Alcoholic drinks only). Have a seat on the lawn and hear some of the best surf music in the midwest! If the weather is warm bring a bathings suit & towel for the kids to play in the fountain! Show starts at 1pm and ends between 11pm! Location is in the Oxford Memorial Park Pavilion and park. Located at the corner of Main and High streets in Uptown Oxford. These were because of other commitments or the fact that artists playing in more than one band wanted them to play back to back. This is YOUR invitation to join our band, Don't fear the Reverb , in the NORTHSIDE 3rd of JULY Parade

IT IS YOUR EXCUSE to Get wild and have fun and be creative in this crazy parade!

ANYbody Any age.

Why? - Just to have fun.

You could wear anything, swim suits, mermaid outfits, surfer dude, dress like a spy or western attire, or you could join the Hawaiian Shirt Crew. Bring : Supersoakers, Hula Hoops, Bubble soap.

MUST be willing to walk about a mile down Hamilton Avenue hill into Northside, so wear comfortable shoes, SOME because of their age MAY get to ride the band wagon. There are Rules - if you want to be IN leave a message. You must be at the staging lot by 11:30 .

Because parking is limited in the staging lot we won't have any parking for vehicles that aren't IN the parade, however, we have arranged a shuttle from McKie Recreation Center to the staging lot at Ashtree and Hamilton.

McKie shuttle times:

Two vans will be traveling between McKie Recreation Center (1665 Chase Ave) to the Staging lot on Hamilton Ave from 10 until 11:30am.

No participants after 11:30 will be able to take the van.

Our float is pretty darn BIG - 32 foot long, can't really miss it. We will be playing before we leave the lot.

Parade Participant Rules

· You may drop off people for your entry at the staging lot, then you must move your car, only vehicles in the parade may be in the staging lot - you can bring your family, no age limits only physical requirement is to be able to walk a mile or so down hill.

· Bring sunscreen, water and food for your people

· There are no restrooms at the staging lot, please be prepared.

· Be Creative ! If we win an award there will be a cast party !

· Do not throw items into the crowd or the street. You may bring items to the public on the curb. We will have stickers and "beachy" favors to pass out.

Pick up all trash in the staging lot before you leave for the parade route

· Creative Entry Contest awards will be given at Hoffner as winners arrive

· Have big fun!!!!!

So for months I did not update this site. What is wrong with me.

Well there is a lot going on : the REVERBZ summer schedule is coming together: in short:

We are hosting the JUNE SURF NIGHT at Mahogany's in Latonia KY on Saturday the 26th
Performing in the NORTHSIDE PARADE on the 3rd of JULY and you are invited to join us in a romp down Hamilton Avenue.
Performing at a private pool party for Dave Bowling on the 4th.
Performing a concert by the wave pool at the BEACH WATER PARK in Mason OH on 13 AUGUST 2010
Don will be at the FESTIKI on the 14th with a booth to merchandise the Don't Fear the Reverb stuff and will also be merchandising the Madeira and the Space Cosacks along with other great stuff including continental magazines.

DETAILS: Don and Dave from the AmpFibians are taking on the project of establishing a MIDWEST SURF - SPY - INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC SYNDICATE - SURF SYNDICATE for short. We have acquired a place where folks can meet on a monthly basis, conduct a meeting (mostly about upcoming shows and events) and a set of different bands and likely a surf movie every week.
Stay posted and if you are interested e mail don@dontfearreverb.com - This is MAHOGANY'S in Latonia KY on the last Saturday of every month and it has been running since January of 2010.
Don't Fear the Reverb and Eye Records have put up the jack to have a special coin - a path tag to be exact - made up to help promote the WAIF 88.3 Rockin' and Surfin' Show and to help generate needed funds to keep the signal on a server.
I was told by the "Midwest Surf Guy" of WAIF that LIVE365! may be picking up WAIF and though there would be some costs the R&S show will be helping share the financial load and the sale of these pathtags can help a lot.
