Daddy-O-Grande(Danny Amis) Benefit Show!
Daddy-o Grande from Los Straitjackets has been diagnosed with multiple myeloma(cancer of the bone marrow) profits from this show will go to Daddy-O Grande for his ongoing medical expenses.
Admission is free but donations to Daddy-O-Grande are strongly encouraged!
Bring your friends, family, lawn chairs and a cooler(Non Alcoholic drinks only). Have a seat on the lawn and hear some of the best surf music in the midwest! If the weather is warm bring a bathings suit & towel for the kids to play in the fountain!

Show starts at 1pm and ends between 11pm!
Location is in the Oxford Memorial Park Pavilion and park. Located at the corner of Main and High streets in Uptown Oxford. Or use your favorite mapping app to find:

All of the bands with asterisks beside their names had special requests for these times. These were because of other commitments or the fact that artists playing in more than one band wanted them to play back to back.

14 JUNE 2010 update the REVERBZ summer schedule is coming together: in short: We are hosting the JUNE SURF NIGHT at Mahogany's in Latonia KY on Saturday the 26th Performing in the NORTHSIDE PARADE on the 3rd of JULY and you are invited to join us in a romp down Hamilton Avenue. Performing at a private pool party for Dave Bowling on the 4th. Performing a concert by the wave pool at the BEACH WATER PARK in Mason OH on 13 AUGUST 2010 Don will be at the FESTIKI on the 14th with a booth to merchandise the Don't Fear the Reverb stuff and will also be merchandising the Madeira and the Space Cosacks along with other great stuff including continental magazines. DETAILS: Don is taking on the project of establishing a MIDWEST SURF - SPY - INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC SYNDICATE Don and Dave from the AmpFibians are taking on the project of establishing a MIDWEST SURF - SPY - INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC SYNDICATE - SURF SYNDICATE for short. We have acquired a place where folks can meet on a monthly basis, conduct a meeting (mostly about upcoming shows and events) and a set of different bands and likely a surf movie every week. Stay posted and if you are interested e mail don@dontfearreverb.com - This is MAHOGANY'S in Latonia KY on the last Saturday of every month and it has been running since January of 2010.

I like my band but Daikaiju is fantastic so if you need an infusion of great performance surf instrumentals, you owe it to your self and bring along some friends.

Maurice Mattei has been contracted again for the poster art and hotter than sin surf instrumentalists the Madeira will be headlining a 3 act show with hometown Don't Fear the Reverb opening the show. the date is SET as 19 September 2008 at Memorial Hall and the ink is not dry yet - so stay tuned. www.themadeira.net

Don has ben busy for over a year designing and making ready for a DFR coin - it will be produce in several different metal finishes and will be 1.75 inches in diameter and have a hole in it so it can be used as a neck worn thing or "you name it " , a zipper pull on your beach bag. We are working on a look too but the sound we have is UNIQUE to us. Look on YouTomb and you will find many many surf bands - many not so good - we are not on there (to my knowledge)(YET) and what I know is that of the 40 dozen or so surf bands in the world keeping the flame bright in the torch - Don't Fear the Reverb is ONE OF A KIND. We have several dates lined up now for the rest of this Year. Looking fo a NEW YEAR'S HOUSE PARTY GIG that we would paly CHEAP! Now is YOUR chance - YOU GHAVE GOT TO HEAR THIS BAND LIVE!!!

the Midwest Surf Guy is putting on a party for the home owners of his subdivision. Over 80 invitations were sent out. Don't Fear the Reverb will be joined by the Maladroits (Ron White's crew) and there will be vegitarian chilli - windsurfers on hay bails and plenty of decorations and costumes for the halloween season. http://www.dalailama.com/

I don't know why it is so hard to keep up with the website stuff. so much work went into playing in this parade that it probably skipped my immagination to write about it before it happened BUT I do belive we will perform in the parade again on JULY 4th of 2008. We had a BLAST as well as all who saw us. We were joined by the Beach Party Gang of Taylor Jameson' Hair Design and TOGETHER we won an AWARD for Excellence in the parade. I am finally posting photos of the AWARD.

We now OWN our trailer/ portable stage. Ralph has a generator that is very quiet and WE CAN PLAY ANYWHERE !!! literally (well we don't have a floating stage yet - reminds me of that one in the Simpson's)


We are intending on customizing the portable stage to be even more nifty in 2008.

Well, you might think that because no new news has been added in the past few months, that nothing has been going on. Quite the contrary. We have been hard at work establishing our new sound as a trio and I am STOKED! The DFR unit has a bright future indeed. We have been hard at work this year recording demos of which 11 are being presented here in ouor MP3 section FREE BABY! Hope you like them. Let us know if you hear them if you think we are on the right track.

THE BASS PLAYER QUIT - We have SOLVED this problem already. DON SCHOTT will be the new bassman playing mostly a 5 string CARVIN KOA custom made fretless bass. "I am going to miss myself being the rhythm guitarist, at least for awhile. In the future I still intend on being a switch hitter on the recordings," said Don.

ON SATURDAY JUNE TENTH at two in the afternoon don't fear the reverb will give a benefit performance for Muscular Dystrophy in the parking lot of the Sports Center where MAKRO and the Ice rink used ot be. Ralph recently purchased a very nice AC generator for outdoor performances and this will be our first use of it. Sonny has a new "modular" drum riser and we now have new lighting effects - COME SEE

Don't Fear the Reverb has a new bassman. Jimmy Rogers of blues keyboard fame. We are now accepting bookings and are just about finished with our DVD demo real which you can request through this website. While the bassman in the video is not Jimmy, all we can say is we sound better than that now anyway.
